We Tri So the Kids
Can

Triathlon Day:  July 20, 2008

Children with disabilities at the orphanage face a difficult challenge. They want what so many children take for granted: to be able to walk, play, and learn. But they can't do it alone. This year four tri-athletes inspired us to give. Your pledge will provide these kids with the physical therapy and equipment they need to realize their potential.

You Can Help Make "I Can" a Reality for the Children

Children grow quickly, and just as quickly the window of opportunity for skill building will close for those who struggle with disabilities.  A crucial therapeutic technique, brace, or strengthening equipment introduced at the right time can make all the difference.

Today the fastest growing population of children in orphanages in China are those with special needs.  Most will not be adopted.

Your pledge says to these wonderful, deserving kids at the Fuling orphanage, "Yes, you can."

Thank you for giving.

The Athletes Who Inspire Us

On Sunday, July 20th, Mark Niermann, Wes Cornwell, Jeff Cozzo and Enrique MacGregor swam 1.2 miles, biked 56 miles  and ran 13.1 miles through the Wisconsin landscape during the Spirit of Racine Triathlon.  They raised $5000 that will go to help the kids.

These four athletes, all employees and friends at Ceteris Group (http://www.ceterisgroup.com),  are inspired themselves by company owner and founder Mike Heimert, whose daughter Taylor (Fu De Ping), was adopted from the Fuling orphanage.   In 2003 and 2005 Mike along with other dedicated parents of children adopted from Fuling ran the Chicago Marathon to raise funds to found and maintain the orphanage's First Hugs infant nurture program.   Mike's running days are over, but his dedication and enthusiasm for the kids continues to spread.

Thank you to these dedicated tri-athletes who swam, biked and ran their hearts out for the children.
